The SNAP IO system introduced, for the first time, to Opto 22’s industrial IO offering the advantages of increased IO density, the ability to mix digital and analogue IO on the same rack and provide a straight-forward upgrade path from their legacy industrial IO system.

SNAP IO also introduced new modules to the IO rack such as Weigand modules used in security access systems, RS232/RS422/RS485 Serial modules, HART modules and power monitoring modules. Now a single rack of IO could connect to almost any electrical field signal, all with a reduction in space due to the higher point count available on some of the modules.
SNAP IO modules are available in single channel, dual channel, 4-channel, 8-channel, 16-channel and 32-channel variants. Providing not only reduced space requirements but also a lower cost per point!
