SKU: SNAP-OMR6-C Category: Mechanical Relay Tags: DC, Digital, Output, SNAP

The UL-approved SNAP-OMR6-C mechanical power relay output module offers four channels of switching for up to 250 VAC or 30 VDC, 6 amp loads. Each of the four mechanical contacts can be used as normally open or normally closed.

Mechanical power relay output modules handle more current than any other SNAP output module and provide channel-to-channel isolation. Fusing is not provided; you must provide fusing when wiring the module.

Each contact on the SNAP-OMR6-C can carry 6 amps. Having more than one channel on at the same time does not reduce the amount of power each channel can carry. Because channels are not polarity sensitive, each channel can switch either AC or DC power, thus potentially reducing the number of modules needed.

In solid-state SNAP AC output modules, possible leakage current might cause an electronic input to stick in the ON state. In contrast, a channel on these mechanical power relay modules presents a true open circuit when it is off, and the modules can be used exactly as solid-state AC modules are used.

You must provide transient suppression at the load. If long wire runs are used, transient suppression is required at the terminals of the module as well.

NOTE: Another module, the SNAP-OMR6T-C, includes integrated transient suppression and is recommended for most applications, including applications with long wire runs.

Part of the SNAP PAC System, the SNAP-OMR6-C mounts on a SNAP PAC rack with a SNAP PAC brain or rack-mounted controller. Analog, digital, and serial I/O modules can all be on the same rack. Such an I/O unit is also well suited for PC-based control or for use as intelligent remote I/O for an Allen-Bradley PLC system.

The SNAP-OMR6-C is compatible with all SNAP PAC brains and rack-mounted controllers, including both standard wired models and Wired+Wireless™ models. It is also compatible with SNAP Ultimate, SNAP Ethernet, and SNAP Simple brains, as well as other SNAP brains such as the serial B3000 and the B3000-B. It can also be used on B-series and M-series mounting racks.

NOTE: Modules manufactured before March 2014 have four black connectors instead of one large gray connector. Field connector wiring and module function are identical. Note torque differences in the Specifications tab.
