About Opto 22 Solid State Relays

 In 1974, Opto22 introduced the first liquid epoxy-filled line of power solid-state relays (SSR). This innovation in SSR design greatly improved the reliability and reduced the cost of manufacturing. At that time, they also incorporated 100% testing under full-load conditions of every relay they manufactured.

Opto 22 offers a complete line of SSRs, from the rugged 120/240/380-volt AC Series to the small footprint MP Series, designed for mounting on printed circuit boards. All Opto22 SSRs feature 4,000 volts of optical isolation. All are UL recognized, and most are CSA certified. The innovative use of room-temperature liquid epoxy encapsulation, coupled with Opto22’s unique heat-spreader technology, are key to mass producing the world’s most reliable solid-state relays.

Although the two channels are not isolated from each other, the module is transformer isolated and optically isolated from other modules and devices. Modules are factory calibrated.

The SNAP-AICTD provides two channels of analog temperature input from any industry-standard Integrated Circuit Temperature Device (ICTD). Simple two-wire connections are made to the pluggable terminal strip on top of the module. Although the two channels are not isolated from each other, the module is transformer isolated and optically isolated from other modules and devices.

The SNAP-AIR40K-4 provides four channels of analog-to-digital conversion, ideal for thermistors used in HVAC applications or for reading the resistance of potentiometer input. Default range is 0-40 K Ohms; the module can also be configured for 0-20 K, 0-10 K, or 0-5 K Ohms. Resistance probes must be isolated from each other.
