SNAP PAC Controllers

About SNAP PAC Controllers

The SNAP PAC S-series programmable automation controller (PAC) delivers powerful, real-time control and communication to meet your industrial needs, including industrial control, monitoring, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and data acquisition. This compact, industrially hardened controller can efficiently manage multiple tasks, such as digital and analog control, serial string handling, PID control, and enterprise or Internet connectivity. Additionally, the SNAP-PAC-R1 provides complete cell control on its own rack with I/O modules. For larger systems, it can simultaneously control SNAP I/O and groov EPIC I/O units, offering seamless scalability and flexibility.

About the SNAP-PAC-S2 and SNAP-PAC-S1

The SNAP-PAC-S2 integrates seamlessly with PAC Project software, SNAP PAC I/O processors, and SNAP I/O modules to create a complete control system. This comprehensive system covers digital and analog control, serial string handling, PID loops, and enterprise connectivity. You can easily program it using the included PAC Control software, a flowchart-based tool designed for developing and debugging control strategies on your computer. Once your strategy is ready, simply download it to the PAC, where it runs autonomously.

The SNAP-PAC-S1 programmable automation controller offers powerful, real-time control and communication for industrial control, monitoring, and data acquisition needs. As a key component of the SNAP PAC System, the SNAP-PAC-S1 is fully integrated with PAC Project software, SNAP PAC I/O processors, and SNAP I/O modules, forming a robust, complete control system. It also supports digital and analog control, serial string handling, PID loops, and enterprise connectivity for diverse automation applications.

About the SNAP-PAC-R1

The SNAP-PAC-R programmable automation controller delivers robust control, communication, and I/O processing in a compact, rack-mounted package. As a versatile controller, the SNAP-PAC-R1 integrates seamlessly with PAC Project software, SNAP PAC brains, and SNAP I/O modules. Additionally, it is fully compatible with groov EPIC, either functioning as a SNAP PAC R-series I/O unit connected to a groov® EPIC or controlling groov® EPIC I/O units (requiring PAC Control R10.0a or higher).

Furthermore, the SNAP-PAC-R1 can serve as a remote Ethernet I/O unit, providing custom control for applications running on controllers or PCs. It pairs easily with the freely available PAC Project Basic software suite, or PAC Project Professional (sold separately). Thanks to its Ethernet-based design, the SNAP-PAC-R1 meets nearly all industrial control, remote monitoring, and data acquisition needs.

Opto 22

Founded in 1974 by engineers who designed a better solid-state relay, they chose to build it in a non-corporate, flat organization. Fast forward 50 years, and they are still privately held, led, and run by engineers. Moreover, Opto 22 products are designed to run on non-proprietary communication standards like Ethernet, the Internet Protocol (IP), MQTT, and more. By using open standards and commercially available technologies, automation costs are reduced, and data is accessible where needed. As a result, over the years, they have played a key role in promoting industry standards.

Opto 22 I/O, controllers, and SSRs are renowned for their quality and reliability. Since all products are manufactured and individually tested at the headquarters in Temecula, California, Opto 22 ensure control quality from the ground up.
