About Digital G1 I/O Modules

First developed in 1978, G1 is the first generation of digital I/O modules with plug-in racks for microprocessor-based control. G1 (also called “Standard I/O”) quickly became the world standard form factor for I/O and created the component market for computer-based I/O. The red-black-yellow-white color-coding scheme Opto 22 designed for G1 digital was later used for G4 and SNAP I/O, and it remains the standard today.

OAC5H

The OAC5H output module is used for controlling or switching AC loads of 24-280 VAC and has a higher current rating than the OAC5. Each module provides up to 4000 volts (transient) of optical isolation between the field devices and the control logic. This module is equivalent to a single pole, single throw, normally open contact (FORM A, SPST-NO, Make). All AC output modules feature zero voltage turn-on and zero current turn-off.

OAC5A5

The OAC5A5 output module is used for controlling or switching AC loads of 24-280 VAC. Each module provides up to 4000 volts (transient) of optical isolation between the field devices and the control logic. The OAC5A5 is equivalent to a single pole, single throw, normally closed contact (FORM B, SPST-NC, Break). All AC output modules feature zero voltage turn-on and zero current turn-off.

OAC5A

The IDC15 can act as either a DC or AC input, accepting 10-32 VDC or 12-32 VAC. All AC and DC input modules have a bridge-rectifier input. Each module provides up to 4000 volts (transient) of optical isolation between the field inputs and the output side of the circuit.

The IDC5D is a DC input module accepting 2.5-28 VDC. The IDC5D is a low cost, DC-only input module for use in data acquisition applications.
